"Baglady" by Frank McGuinness, was an introspective, surreal play that explored the conditions of the baglady's life, her condition, and the circumstances which caused her alienation from society. My memory of the baglady is of a gentle, peaceful woman who has been destroyed by her history of shocking violence.

There is an interesting juxtaposition of the shapeless, organic form of the baglady, with the rigid, artificial structure of the sewers. Her early years were in open, airy spaces of the freely giving farm country, and she has been reduced to the claustrophobic, hyperbaric depths where she lives on the castoffs of societies waste.

I had originally modeled the show in a conventional manner, using conventional materials. In fact the 1/2" scale model is sitting on a shelf behind me.

After completing the conventional model, I then modeled the set in MiniCad. The working drawings were produced and then I set to exporting the file into a form that could be rendered with appropriate lighting and surface treatments. I ran through the gamut of freeware, shareware, and samplers. After many fits and starts, the model ended up here. I'll dig a little deeper for a color copy. .
