More Pissant Computer Problems
Last week was a bad week.
This week is a fair to middling week.
Last Wednesday my iBook died, I was home sick with strep throat, and it was my sole consolation. At some point it crashed. I rebooted, and found that when I pressed on the bezel around the keyboard, the screen went crazy and the little iBook crashed as hard as can be.
Saturday, I took it to Haddock to have it shipped off for warranty service.
The funny thing is that the previous Saturday, I had taken my PowerBook (Pizmo) to Haddock for non-warranty service. It had been dead since November. Last night they gave me a call and my Pizmo was up and running. If only it had a hard drive….
You see, I’d taken the drive out last year and placed it into a fire-wire enclosure. I needed access to the files on the thing.
So, this morning I took the drive to ICT and at this time we’re running diskWarrior on the drive. So I have lots of time on my hands to update my blog and so on and so on.
The nice thing is that I get to do it from a dual 1.2G quicksilver with a 20″ studio monitor. A little overkill for web browsing, but lovely never-the-less
