My birthday was last Friday.
I got a german chocolate cake and butter brickle and butter pecan ice-cream.
Mandy got me an DVD player.
Ag Schmag got me a T-Shirt and a that there sort of a Frisbee sort of thing there.
Jess got me some Groovy Sci-Fi books.
Norman and Roxy got me tree trimming (Yeah Horray!!) and a Joseph Campbell DVD.
Marela and Radu Pop made me a painting.
Avery got me a card of a cat photocopying its ass.
I’m SO proud (sob, sniffle)
It’s a hell of a commute. . . .
But the potential pay increase . . . .
Ah, to be in a place where I’m not the only thing up-to-date.

Last week, while I was gone, I got another e-mail from Emmanuelle Richard, the L.A. correspondent for the French newspaper Libération.
She’d contacted me for a story about the demise of independent internet radio, and more particularly about the death of Radio Free Tiny Pineapple. I’d made comments on the blog of RFTP. She wanted clarification and elucidation.
My comments ended up being entirely cut by the editors in Paris, (France not Texas.)
Even Grettir Asmundarson, the founder of RFTP got mostly cut. His comments about his lack of comments are worth reading.
