Vacation Weather

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:00 am by lael

It’s a billion degrees here. And we’re going to vacation someplace really hot. Texas!

The canadian rockies are really starting to look good. New South Wales’ ski season is just cranking up. I’ll just have the crew go out and start the preflight on the GV.

Mandy’s been doing some painting around the house.

Avery’s has added two new phrases to her vocabulary.

“Damn,” and, “oh, shit.”

Corelational, yes. But causal . . . ?

Googling (Tee Hee)

Posted in Uncategorized at 6:02 pm by lael

I “googled” an old friend this afternoon.

“Googling” is to enter a name into the google web site and see what turns up. It’s a dotcommer’s social measuring stick.

We had gone to elementary school together for 3 years, and later for a year of Jr. High. I found him at the site for his 20 year high school reunion.

They’ve got a cheezy MIDI file of “Come together” from the Beatles’ Abbey Road.

I couldn’t figure why they were playing a song from a 1969 album for the class of ‘82. I’d think they would use something from the 80’s at least. I think my high school’s senior song was “Freeze-Frame” by the J. Geils Band.

Then I figured out. “Come together,” for a Reunion. That sentiment was cheezier than the MIDI.

– I’ve tried to “google” my dad and my brother. Names too common. Mark Porter turns up friggin’ everyone. Harold Porter turns up more botany sites than “philodendron.”

Libération Interview

Posted in Uncategorized at 4:49 pm by lael

I was contacted last Friday, June 28, by Emmanuelle Richard, “the California correspondent for French daily paper Libération“.

She was stringing a story about, “how the new [LOC royalties] rates are beginning to mute net radio station in the U.S.”

Fandom of RFTP had its rewards. I never expected international notariety.
